My name is Dora Reed, and I'm one of the founders of Atypical Family Therapy & Disability Support Services, a new autism therapy clinic that prioritizes the entire family. As a parent of two children with autism, I understand deeply the challenges and emotional weight that come with navigating the complex journey of finding the best support for your child. The process of identifying the right therapies, specialists, and approaches can feel overwhelming at times, and I know how exhausting it can be to search for what will help your child thrive. I have experienced, firsthand, the heartache of watching my children struggle with regression and the intense feeling of helplessness that comes when you desperately want to do more, but don't always know how. It's a difficult path to walk, one that often leaves you questioning whether you're doing enough or whether the right resources are within reach. My heart goes out to anyone facing this, as I understand the depth of love and commitment that drives every parent to do everything they can for their children, even when the way forward feels unclear. We understand that autism impacts the whole family system, and with over 66,000 children aged 0-24 in the immediate area that require specialized services, families can face waitlists of up to 5-7 years for essential autism therapies. Atypical Family Therapy aims to bridge this gap by providing timely, evidence-based interventions and wraparound support tailored to each family's unique needs. we are committed to providing comprehensive support that empowers both children and their loved ones. We are dedicated to breaking cycles and removing barriers to ensure the success of all families, empowering them to navigate the challenges of neurological and physical disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related conditions.
